About Garber’s Ice Cream

Garber's Ice Cream Tubs
Garber’s Ice Cream opened its first ice cream shop in 1912 in Moorefield, West Virginia. In the 1920’s, the shop was moved to Winchester, Virginia, where it still remains today. In the 1930’s, Charles Garber and most of his children manufactured ice cream while Charles’ wife, Nora, handled all the bookkeeping for the company’s needs. Five of the children made life-long careers in the production and distribution of Garber’s Ice Cream. Donald Garber, the youngest son of Charles and Nora took over the business in 1985. Following Donald’s retirement, his youngest son David took over the Garber’s family business and currently is the head of all aspects for the operations of the company. David is joined by both his son and daughter, whom both work at Garber’s Ice Cream, making it a four generation business.

The Garber’s Ice Cream family and employees wish to extend their gratitude and appreciation for your continued patronage to the Garber’s brand.
